Counterfeit Detection Device
Fogarty and NIH collaborated with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in a public-private partnership to help identify counterfeit or substandard anti-malarial medicines with the deployment of the FDA-developed Counterfeit Detection Device, called CD-3. To verify the tool's use in a low-resource setting, researchers will conduct a pilot study in Ghana at sites established by U.S. Pharmacopeia, then will expand testing to other locations.
