National Institute of Dental Research : NIDR Legislative Chronology
June 24, 1948--Public Law 80-755 established NIDR to conduct, support, and foster
research investigations on the causes, treatment, and prevention of dental diseases and
conditions.
August 1, 1958--The President signed a DHEW appropriation bill which included
provisions to finance construction of laboratory facilities to house NIDR.
