Format: Feature Article
Institute: National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
Knowing your family health history is an important part of understanding your risk for developing a number of serious diseases, including type 2 diabetes. The National Diabetes Education Program encourages all families to gather their family health histories this holiday season and help prevent or delay type 2 diabetes in future generations. "Have a Holiday Heart-to-Heart," a feature article by NIDDK Director Griffin P. Rodgers, explains why a family health history is important and includes four questions you should ask your family.
