Brain Basics Shows How the Brain Works
Format: Web Site
Institute: National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
To help people from middle school students to adults better understand the brain and mental illness, NIMH created Brain Basics, a self-guided education module that uses animation to engage learners.
The module can be viewed in approximately 20 minutes. Images and animation are used to show how the brain works, how mental illnesses are disorders of the brain, and how ongoing research helps us better understand and treat disorders.
