New Strategic Plan Available for Office of Dietary Supplements

Institute: Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS)
ODS recently developed its strategic plan for 2010–2014, Strengthening Knowledge and Understanding of Dietary Supplements. The plan was shaped by a year's worth of reflection on the return on ODS's investments and what new challenges await, along with the thoughtful input, comments, and advice the Office received from its stakeholder communities throughout the federal government, academia, the dietary supplement industry, consumer advocacy and education groups, and interested consumers. Readers will find an overview of ODS's programs, activities, and initiatives from the past five years and its plans for the future.
The mission of ODS is to strengthen knowledge and understanding of dietary supplements by evaluating scientific information, stimulating and supporting research, disseminating research results, and educating the public to foster an enhanced quality of life and health for the U.S. population.
