Noisy Planet Campaign Offers Materials in Spanish
Format: Web Site, Fact Sheets
Institute: National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD)
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the NIDCD has launched a new Spanish-language section of its popular Web site for parents of 8- to 12-year-olds, It's a Noisy Planet. Protect Their Hearing.
The new section will help you learn about causes and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss so that your tween—and you—can have healthy hearing for life. It includes fact sheets about hearing loss from overexposure to loud noise, why children and teens are at risk, and how parents can help their children build healthy hearing habits.
