Dancers, Genome Scientists Invite Media to Preview New Dance, Ferocious Beauty: Genome

What: The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), part of the National Institutes of Health, and the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange host a media event for Ferocious Beauty: Genome, a multi-media dance developed through an innovative collaboration between artists and scientists.

Speakers will include Liz Lerman, artistic director of the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange; genomic researchers Vence Bonham and Martine Behra of NHGRI; and Kathy Hudson, director of the Genetics and Public Policy Center of the Berman Bioethics Institute at Johns Hopkins University.

Why: Event will give the media the opportunity to view/videotape/photograph parts of Ferocious Beauty: Genome, and interview dancers and genomic researchers involved in creation of the performance and related educational workshops.

When: Tues., April 24, 2:00 — 3:30 p.m.

Where: Atlas Performing Arts Center, 1333 H St. NE, Washington, D.C.
