WHY: Many patients are using complementary and alternative medical (CAM) treatments for chronic liver diseases such as hepatitis. The NIDDK and NCCAM are bringing together national and international experts to share current knowledge on CAM interventions for chronic liver diseases and to evaluate available scientific data that these treatments are effective and safe. Participants will discuss what clinical research may be needed to determine safety and effectiveness.
