NHLBI Study: Having Elevated Risk Factors in Young Adulthood Significantly Raises Risk of Coronary Calcium Later On (MP3 - 01:15, 1.2 MB)
Having elevated risk factors as a young adult increases the likelihood of coronary calcium deposits later in life, according to a study by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.

Reducing Sodium Decreases Long-Term Risk for Cardiovascular Disease (MP3 - 02:28, 2.3 MB)
A clinical trial from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute shows that people with pre-hypertension who reduced their sodium intake by 25 to 35 percent had a 25 percent lower risk of total cardiovascular disease over the 10 to 15 years during which they cut back on salt.
