NIH Awards $8.5 Million for Research on Pharmaceuticals for Children (MP3 - 02:32, 2.3 MB)
Studying drugs in pediatric populations is challenging because drugs often affect children differently than they do adults. The scarcity of pediatric studies limits the ability of doctors and scientists to predict drug dosing, safety and efficacy in children. To address this gap, the National Institutes of Health announced 18 grants to help determine outcome measures and increase the likelihood of success of future trials of treatments for children.

National Library of Medicine Launches Mobile MedlinePlus to Meet the Health Information Needs of an On-the-Go Public (MP3 - 01:31, 1.4 MB)
The National Library of Medicine has developed a mobile service for MedlinePlus. The NLM's Mobile Medline Plus builds on the NLM’s MedlinePlus Internet service, which provides authoritative consumer health information to over 10 million visitors per month.
