NHGRI Launches Online Genomics Center for Educators of Nurses, Physician Assistants – 1
Narrator: This is NIH Health Matters. To address the growing need for genetic and genomic knowledge among health care professionals, the National Human Genome Research Institute has launched an online teaching tool for educators of nurses and physician assistants.
Dr. Jenkins: We worked to design the Genetic/Genomics Competency Center, we call G2C2.
Narrator: Dr. Jean Jenkins, the NHGRI’s senior clinical advisor to the director, describes this resource.
Dr. Jenkins: It’s a free web-based collection of materials on genetics and genomics. It’s been developed to facilitate the educator’s ability to find resources and circular material with which to teach genetics and genomics to nurses and physician assistant students.
