NHGRI Launches Online Genomics Center for Educators of Nurses, Physician Assistants – 3
Narrator: This is Health Matters. An online tool to help educators teach the next generation of nurses and physicians about genetics and genomics is now available. Dr. Jean Jenkins, from the National Human Genome Research Institute explains the Genetics/Genomics Competency Center called G2C2 may impact the future of medicine.
Dr. Jenkins: G2C2 is a resource that as we enter the era of personalized medicine, establishing genetic and genomic literacy is an urgent concern for those who educate health professionals.
Narrator: G2C2 is part of NHGRI’s effort to address the need among health care professionals for knowledge in this area. It is an open source on-line storage area for course and study materials and resources. It’s available at www.g-2-c-2.org. Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
