Fun Summer Days – Eating Better and Getting Active – 1
Narrator: This is NIH Health Matters. I’m Joe Balintfy. Experts say summer is a great time for getting out and increasing activity. Harrison Wein, editor of the NIH News in Health newsletter says school’s out, things are slow at work, and the warmer weather brings opportunities.
Wein: Well it always helps your heart and cardiovascular system to get more physical activity. And summer is a great time for getting out and increasing your activity. You could take evening walks around the neighborhood. Sign the kids up for sports programs at the local community or recreation center. Go swimming together. Ride your bike or hike through a park. There’s lots of opportunities when the weather is warmer.
Narrator: For more tips, visit the NIH News In Health newsletter online at newsinhealth.nih.gov. Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
