New videos, website offer important resources for people affected by diabetes – 2

Narrator:  This is NIH Health Matters.  I’m Joe Balintfy.  Diabetes affects nearly 26 million people in the United States.  Dr. Judy Fradkin, a director of diabetes research at NIH says now, new videos are available to help people make changes and cope with the disease.

Fradkin: … being physically active or eating a healthier diet can help you lose weight but people don’t know how to make the change and actually change what they eat and how active they are. And this gives tools to help take those first steps and really to track your progress and we know that tracking progress is associated with doing better.

Narrator: To see the videos, visit www.yourdiabetesinfo.org/HealthSense.  Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
