Narrator: This is NIH Health Matters. I’m Joe Balintfy. Anxiety disorders affect between an estimated 3 and 14 percent of older adults in a given year. Dr. Jovier Evans at the National Institute of Mental Health, says the NIHSeniorHealth website has added anxiety disorders as a topic.
Evans: This website will offer valuable information regarding risk and protected factors around anxiety disorders as well as basic information about signs, symptoms, and treatment.
Narrator: He adds that anxiety disorders frequently occur at the same time as lots of other illnesses such as depression, diabetes, heart disease, or other medical illnesses.
