National Children’s Study Environmental Summit – 2
Narrator: This is NIH Health Matters. I’m Joe Balintfy. Researchers want to understand how being exposed to environmental factors such as foods, chemicals, and other aspects of daily life might interact with a person’s DNA. Dr. Steven Hirschfeld, acting director of the National Children’s Study at NIH, says this study will answer many public health questions:
Hirschfeld: How do you and your family learn about some of the best practices supported by evidence that you can implement in your life?
Narrator: He adds the study will also help health policy.
Hirschfeld: And we are best served by having data to allow policy makers to make those decisions.
Narrator: For more on the study’s scope, visit www.nationalchildrensstudy.gov. Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
