Collaboration – 2
Narrator: This is NIH Health Matters. I’m Joe Balintfy. The NIH has launched a collaborative program that will match researchers with a selection of pharmaceutical industry compounds. Dr. Kathy Hudson at the NIH says those compounds have basically been in the attic until now.
Hudson: So what we're able now to do through this collaboration is make those available to researchers and basically crowd source these compounds and get the very best ideas from all American researchers to see whether or not there is a way to use these compounds to help provide new medicines for different diseases.
Narrator: For details on available compounds, and more on the partnership program, visit the website http://ncats.nih.gov. Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
