National Library of Medicine Launches Mobile MedlinePlus to Meet the Health Information Needs of an On-the-Go Public – 1
Narrator: This is NIH Health Matter. Waiting for the pharmacist to fill your prescription and wondering what the side effects might be? The National Library of Medicine’s MedlinePlus website is now mobile.
Frant: The National Library of Medicine created Mobile Medline Plus to meet the health information needs of an on the go public.
Narrator: Ms. Loren Frant is the Head of the Health Information Projects Unit at NLM.
Frant: Mobile Medline Plus builds on the NLM’s MedlinePlus’s website which has been around for since 1998 and provides authoritative consumer health information to over 10 million visitors per month.
Narrator: To access Medline Plus on your mobile phone go to, m.medlineplus.gov. Or visit the website medlindplus.gov from a computer. Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
