World Kidney Day and National Kidney Month – 4

Narrator: This is NIH Health Matters. I’m Joe Balintfy. World Kidney Day on March 10 is a way to focus attention on chronic kidney disease. Dr. Andrew Narva from the National Institute of Diabetes, and Digestive and Kidney Diseases leads the National Kidney Disease Education Program which encourages people to get tested for chronic kidney disease.

Narva: Another program that addresses this is the National Diabetes Education Program, which works in collaboration with CDC and a large number of federal, state, and local partners to offer materials and resources to patients with diabetes and the professionals who care for them.

Narrator: For more information on NIDDK’s education programs visit www.niddk.nih.gov. Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
