Lifelines 6 – Colorectal Cancer and Asian Americans
Narrator: This is Lifelines, from NIH Radio. Here is Dr. Grace Ma from Temple University.
Ma: Unfortunately, colorectal cancer screening rates remain very low among Asian Americans. Several different colorectal cancer screening tests are available, and these tests are designed to detect abnormal growths in the colon and rectum so they can be removed before they turn into cancer. Screening tests can also find colorectal cancer in its earlier stages, when it responds best to treatment. Visit www.cancer.gov or call 1-800-4-CANCER to speak with a cancer information specialist.
