Army of Women – 1
Narrator: This is NIH Health Matters. The Army of Women is an online initiative that has enrolled thousands of women throughout the country in studies on breast cancer. Dr. Susan Love, heads the initiative.
Love: It’s time for women to take the next step. Beyond just raising money for research, but actually participating in the research.
Narrator: Dr. Love says women are helping scientific research.
Love: Since October we have 300,000 women, the majority of which do not have breast cancer and have no family history, who are ready to be in studies to figure out the cause of breast cancer. That’s remarkable. And that shows you the public is really ready to be there.
Narrator: For information on breast cancer, visit www.cancer.gov. Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the US Department of Health and human Services.
