Army of Women – 3

Narrator: This is NIH Health Matters. A new initiative is studying breast cancer survivorship, for example women whose cancer has spread yet is controlled for many years.

Love: What are they doing differently? There must be lifestyle and other issues that are contributing to their success?

Narrator: Dr. Susan Love recently spoke at the National Cancer Institute. She leads the Army of Women which includes women throughout the country who are enrolled in studies about surviving and preventing breast cancer.

Love: They just sign up online and receive the emails. And they’re not signing up to be in a study, they’re just signing up that they’re willing to hear about studies.

Narrator: Studies and research information can also be found at www.clinicaltrials.gov. Health Matters is produced by the National Institutes of Health, part of the US Department of Health and human Services.
