Research Interests

Current Main Research Topics of the Laboratory:

Molecular Immunology, Transcription Factors and Signaling:

A) Immune activation mechanisms, especially the study of activation-responsive genes of human blood-derived T cells.

B) Mechanisms of activation of the NF-kB transcription factors, including identification of components of intracellular signaling cascades leading to proteolytic degradation of inhibitors of NF-kB (e.g. MAP Kinase-like and TNF-response signaling pathways).

C) Role of NF-kB factors in regulating genes and in specific immune responses to pathogens by analysis of "knock-out" mice and transgenic mice. Role of NF-kB factors in tumorigenesis.
