Advisory Committee to the NIH Director: Working group reports on the biomedical workforce, diversity in the biomedical research workforce, and data and informatics

What

Three working groups of the Advisory Committee to the National Institutes of Health Director (ACD) will be presenting their final draft recommendations to the ACD. The co-chairs of these three working groups will be available to discuss the recommendations with the media immediately following their presentations to the ACD.

ACD Diversity in the Biomedical Research Workforce Working Group Co-Chairs:

  • Lawrence A. Tabak, D.D.S., Ph.D., Principal Deputy Director, NIH
  • John Ruffin, Ph.D., Director, National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, NIH
  • Reed Tuckson, M.D., Executive Vice President and Chief of Medical Affairs, UnitedHealth Grou

ACD Data and Informatics Working Group Co-Chairs:

  • Lawrence A. Tabak, D.D.S., Ph.D., Principal Deputy Director, NIH
  • David DeMets, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, University of Wisconsin–Madison

When

Thursday, June 14:
2:30-3 p.m.: Drs. Rockey and Tilghman for the Biomedical Workforce Working Group Report following their presentation to the ACD from 1-2:30 p.m.

4:15-4:45 p.m.: Drs. Tabak, Ruffin, and Tuckson for the Diversity in the Biomedical Research Workforce Working Group Report following their presentation to the ACD from 2:45-4:15 p.m.

Friday, June 15:
10:45-11:15 a.m.: Drs. Tabak and DeMets for the ACD Data and Informatics Working Group following their presentation to the ACD from 9:15-10:45 a.m.
